I Need Some Support & Encouragement Sparkpeople!!

I've started my new position, and I'm a little overwhelmed. I LOVE it, but I'm putting in a lot of hours and stressing quite a bit.. and struggling with finding balance again. I already feel myself getting put on the back-burner, and I'm not sure how to remedy that. I feel a lot of pressure to succeed (and excel) in this position... and as a mom.. and there's just not much left after that. I have NO energy to exercise... not even just the more active lifestyle activities I HAD been doing (like riding my bike to work or taking an evening family walk). NO energy. I'm still eating well, but I don't feel like that's enough. Will balance come with time? Is this just an adjustment period? What do I do sparkfriends??!

    Give yourself permission to learn, grow and make mistakes. You can't know how to do this job from day one. If you don't take time for yourself, the wheels will fall off and you won't succeed at all. You need time to take breaks during the day. I do my best thinking while walking around the block. It's NOT frivolous but necessary. Good luck.

    Try to make some time for yourself. Even if it's just 15 minutes!

    I think there are times on our journey that the best we can do is hang tight while we rest and recoup our energy, our outlook, our strength. I know I am going through some tough times right now and my goal is to hold tight while I adjust to what God has put in my path. So don't beat yourself up. Maybe wait until the weekend to take that walk or bike ride. You have come far, just don't slip back into bad habits. emoticon

    First of all, I have to say that your before and after picts on your main page are beautiful! You have made so much progress. Please do not do what I did. I was in your situation when I went back to get my masters degree while working full time and raising 4 children. I REALLY needed sleep and had NO energy. Consequently, I put on about 30 pounds in less than 3 years! My DH is NOT happy about this and I am embarrassed about it. So find a way to keep exercising or cut way down on your calories! You can and will do it! emoticon
