I guess I need to take this advice MORE OFTEN!!!
It really does an active body good! (and I need GOOD right now!)
This past weekend I decided to find a sub for my Saturday morning Zumba class (which was almost impossible to find!) and took a long weekend trip to Leduc to:
a) visit my parents,
b) attend my nephew Jackson's 1st birthday party,
c) see my brother and his very pregnant wife (her due date was the day after Jackson's birthday! YIKES!) and
d) visit my BFF, her hubby and their son in Edmonton!
I got even luckier because my sister and her kids were up for the birthday party too! So it was a very nice family affair! (Come to think of it, all of my immediate family were together! [except for my and Jenny's hubby's] That rarely happens!)
What I got out of the weekend was some good quality rest. I went for an acupuncture session last Tuesday (Sept. 28th) where she said she felt a lightness to my pulse (indicating stress) and she also noted a lightness to my tongue which is commonly indicative of a cold or a run down immune system!
Well, I am HAPPY to report that I did not feel an ounce of knee of neck pain for the whole weekend! WOO HOO!
I did feel a slight bit of knee pain AFTER my Zumba class on Thursday night, but it was totally manageable and no where near as bad as it had been!
I went for a follow-up acupuncture treatment yesterday, where the acupuncturist took my pulse again and noted, "It feels wiry, are you on your period or is it coming soon?" BANG ON! It hasn't arrived yet, but should ANY DAY NOW! HOLY CRAP, she's good! It's amazing just how much she can learn about my body by a simple pulse check and tongue observation! (I never DID get sick, but I do believe I'm still low immune and really need to be careful around sick people!!!)
Overall, I'm feeling pretty good this week! I'll post some pictures tonight, after I get my sick computer fixed up!
