Krishna Temple

Thursday, September 30, 2010

The temple was beautiful as always the animals fun to feed. This is the first time I took the tour and it was fairly enlightening. You could tell it was geared for Christians the way he kept referring to the similarities between Buddhism and Christianity. I think it would have been better if the guide had just spoke about HIS beliefs without tying it back. But the whole reason for the open temple and tours and things is to breed understanding and acceptance for a different view. Kind of a see we arn't all that different. But because of it most of the realness was taken out for me. I was hoping for a more accurate and direct approach. The chanting was great. Would have been better if I could have kept up to participate. The Krishna Temple is the only one of this architecture style in America. Now that is pretty cool that I got to experience it.

I like it better when these types of explanations are straightforward, rather than being dona as a comparison.
