Connectivity to Withings WiFi Scale Now Available

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

Monday, September 27, 2010

Hi everyone

A company named Withings sells a scale that sends your results online after you weigh-in over the wireless internet network in your house. SparkPeople worked with Withings to make it so you can synchronize your Withings weigh-ins to your SparkPeople account. We know that a number of members have purchased this scale so we encourage you to connect your Withings and SparkPeople accounts now.

For those who do not have a scale, the price is $159. We realize this is expensive, and SparkPeople receives no financial benefit when you purchase the scale. But if you are interested, we have found the scales to work very well and found them to be easy to setup and connect to your SparkPeople account.

To learn more, or connect your SparkPeople account to Withings, you can visit sparkpeople.com/myspark/wifiscalesubscribe.asp

Cool concept for gadgeteers, but a little spendy for the average Joe.

Thanks for the info.

I own one and have been very satisfied with it. I alse recently did a hydrostatic test and found the Withings to be extremely accurate regarding body composition.

It was only off by 2 pounds!!

Great Scale. Glad to see Spark supports their product.

Neat! I like having my blood pressure monitor and pedometer connect via a usb cord, and wished my scale would do that. This takes it a step farther.

This might make a nice reward for those of us who enjoy computers and gadgets -- after all, it helps to see one kind of progress! I hope somebody will go the next step and connect the heart rate monitor and the workout type and length.

We get closer to "Star Trek" all the time.

Thanks for the tip!

I think it's awesome, but the price is gonna keep me away from it. I might pay $75 for something like that but $159 is outta my league. I'll just walk my behind over to the computer and key it in the old fashioned way.

It is a convenient way to record your weight but it is expensive. Maybe sometime in the future I would be able to buy it. Thanks for the heads up.

And with a capacity of 396 lbs, if you happen to be on the HIGH END of weight loss, (and I am not sure that this is a site where you would find ANYONE who would meet that criterion--wait, this is a weight loss site----wait, I have struggled to lose 30lbs to bring myself down to a svelte 400.6, hmmm. I guess there should have been more sarcasm after that opening parenthesis.)

THEN THIS SCALE IS USELESS!!!!

Yes ladies and gentlemen, I had to buy a scale with a 500 lbs limit so that I could track weight progress during my loss. But if you are a big man, this will not be something I would recommend.

It is a great idea. But buyer beware.

    Go and buy it!

I have it and it is fantastic!!
It has changed the way I feel about weighing, from fearing the scale to loving it.
It's worth every cent I paid.

I wholeheartedly RECOMMEND it.
