Connectivity to Withings WiFi Scale Now Available

Voted Popular Blog Post: View All Popular Posts

Hi everyone

A company named Withings sells a scale that sends your results online after you weigh-in over the wireless internet network in your house. SparkPeople worked with Withings to make it so you can synchronize your Withings weigh-ins to your SparkPeople account. We know that a number of members have purchased this scale so we encourage you to connect your Withings and SparkPeople accounts now.

For those who do not have a scale, the price is $159. We realize this is expensive, and SparkPeople receives no financial benefit when you purchase the scale. But if you are interested, we have found the scales to work very well and found them to be easy to setup and connect to your SparkPeople account.

To learn more, or connect your SparkPeople account to Withings, you can visit sparkpeople.com/myspark/wifiscalesubscribe.asp

Sold! I have ordered a Withings. It'll be here by Tues. I have set up my Withings account and am ready to rock and roll. As soon as I sync the account with the actual scale, I will set up the SparkPeople connection.

Some of my Sparkie friends are resisting, for whatever personal reason. To each, his own.

I think this is another of the outstanding tools that SparkPeople continues to make available to us.

Hi - on a similar note is there anyway to interface my Omrom IT pedometer to this site? That would be sooooo great!

Any plans to add if not in works already?

Thanks for everything!

What a great idea!!! This should make my weight tracking a little easier. I always like to see where my stats are on any given day.

I'm going to contact Withings because the scale is weighing me 5 lbs heavier than my normal scale. I'm not sure why? The reason I know that my normal scale is correct is because it is the same as the WW scale when I weigh in.

Yeah got a wifit too and loads of other gadgets....couldn't justify spending $159 on a new scale.....I second the 'can't you hook up with Wii?' question....

I like this idea, but I don't want to pay for the expensive scale. I got a Wii Fit for Christmas. It would be nice if I could transfer my results for that to SparkPeople.

I think I will stick to my current scale. No reason to spend money on something I don't really need when what I have works fine.

I'll pass on expensive scales... My good ol' electronic Thinner works just fine! I use it every morning and it's accurate. Besides, it's been with me through "thick and thin" - I'm keeping my old friend...

That would be awesome if you are able to bring in the FitBit data! Not like it's that difficult to hand jam in my total steps for day from the fitbit site, I just never seem to get it done...

Oh, and I simply couldn't resist purchasing the scale! I ordered it yesterday using the two day free shipping from Amazon and it's already been delivered and is waiting for me at home. Can't wait to check it out!

We'd love to hook SparkPeople into Wii Fit data but currently they don't make this data available.

We are however looking at bringing in FitBit data to SparkPeople, we'll let you know if this happens!

The scale I purchased in January isn't working that great, right now it's the best "3 out of 5" readings. I tried to get a new scale on ebay but never could get it to work, so I've bought 2 scales since January... maybe better just to buy one incredible scale than all these other ones.

I got the scale with a gift certificate & REALLY like it. My only complaint is that when Withings sends my numbers from their website to SparkPeople, I lose approx 1/2 pound during transmission between the 2 sites. I don't mind losing weight when I actually lose it, but this a pretty expensive gadget to have it not be 100% accurate. Hope they fix this.

I have a weakness for gadgets and gizmos, but rarely do I give into them... The last time I succumbed was when I purchased the fitbit in July and have not been the least bit disappointed with that purchase. It's been great, as it allows me to compete with myself on my daily activity level. Now there's a scale that does the same, but for weight? And it links into SparkPeople? Hmm...this might be my next gadget purchase, especially since Amazon currently has it on sale for $144.98 with free two day shipping for health items. Decisions, decisions...
