re-evalueating my steps.

Monday, September 27, 2010

for along time i have not been wearing my pedometer while i was on exercise ban i did what the dr said and did no exercise even though i was still walking to and from school etc. i didnīt see it as exercise but part of normal day to day life.i have a couple of spark friends who said i should have tracked it as exercise but i never did as i didnīt see it as i am sorry i didnīt. i have missed 1000īs and 1000īs exercise minutes because of it,well today i put on my pedometer just going back and forth from the school 3 times ,going to my drs and going shopping.nothing extra,no extra exercise or anything have i done18,919 steps so far.(so much for gentle exercise.i per posed with another sparker who is having problems getting her walking in that we can do it together and we could both try and get 5,000 steps in.looks like that will have to be re evaluate.shall i now go for the 10,000steps per day instead of 5,000 or be more adventerous and go for 15,000 steps a day.before my op and exercise ban etc i always tried for over 20,000 steps a day but more often than not it was over 25,000steps a day.i still have a long way to go to get back there but at least i know why i get tired doing what i see as nothing when really it was the exercise that is making me tired and that what i have been doing on a daily basis was not nothing. emoticon

Wow! I think I'm doing great if I manage 10,000 steps a day. You should be getting fit doing that amount. emoticon emoticon Love, Jean

I'm addicted to wearing my pedometer. My goal is 10,000 steps a day. I don't always do that many but at least I'm tracking what I do. That makes me feel accomplished.

Good job and keep the good work up. emoticon

I think you are a SUPER STAR!! I'm so happy a Spark Friend suggested you put your pedometer on again. Keeping track of your steps and seeing how much you are doing will make you feel so good about yourself.

I am so PROUD of you, walking keeps you strong. Keep on Keeping On my Sister.

Walking is good exercise! It's much gentler than many others. You will get built back up in endurance. No worries there.

Keep up the good work!

Thats Wonderful Karen ... keep the Pedometor on all day ! you will be amazed at what steps you can build up .. also my love .. when you are doing the house work that counts as extra. that can go down as Aerobic exercise.. you will soon see your fitness build up again and that will give you confidence as well as helping to keep fit! love Susie and Bobby emoticon emoticon emoticon
