Ugh. I have officially caught my first cold of the season, and I don't like it. Plus, it had the audacity to hit over a beautiful weekend. I don't mind being sick during the week (after all, I'm getting paid for it at least), but interfering with my weekend is absolutely rude. No bike ride on Saturday (lots of tea and BBC productions of Jane Austen books), tiny bike (less than 5 miles) ride on Sunday, which left me wheezing and hacking and shivering and was probably not the best idea I've ever had. Gorgeous weather, and I was stuck inside. Dripping. Blech.
Today I'm feeling marginally better (i.e. I don't feel like I got run over by a truck, but that's the best I can claim). I'm sucking down tea like there's no tomorrow, brought homemade chicken soup for lunch (I make awesome chicken noodle soup, if I do say so myself), and am seriously contemplating skipping my planned 30 minutes at the gym. I think I'm over the worst of it, and working out usually clears my sinuses and makes me feel better, but I hate to go to the gym sick and potentially infect other people...maybe I'll go and just speed-walk around the track. That seems innocuous enough.
In other news, I'm up a couple pounds for my weigh in this morning (not surprising considering what I've been eating this past week). I need to refocus and stay within my calorie range better--I've been all over the place lately, and my pants are tighter for it! Not good! At least I'm still out of the 240s, but only by the skin of my teeth! So this coming week, my goals are going to be:
1) stay within calorie range every day
2) get 30 minutes of activity every day
3) no evening snacking (which should help with #1!)
Now I'm off to get some more tea (since I forgot my usual tumbler and am forced to drink in 8 oz. increments--I feel like I'm constantly running upstairs for more hot water!)
