A Cold One

Sunday, September 26, 2010

I slept in and then got up and got chores done right away.

It was almost cold here today at 58 degrees. I had to put on long pants and a light jacket. It sprinkled and was cloudy most of the day.

We had a black throated blue warbler at our feeder today. First one we have ever seen. Some of the winter birds have showed up like grosbeaks and flickers.

We went for 3 walks. Didn't see one turtle but saw a bunch of deer and talked to our neighbor who lives down the road. Saw Baby and Hondo and Daisy too.

I have kind of lost my appetite which is a good thing.

Squeaker is having problems with her teeth again and will need surgery.

Wow 985, you certainly have lost your appetite.

It's been cool here in the mornings, it already rained this morning right before dawn. Should warm into the 70s today.

What's wrong with her teeth? Must be serious to need surgery . . .

Hope Squeaker is okay. I'm guessing that teeth are important and special in chinchillas, what I'm not sure ??

It was cool here too. Sounds like you had some interesting creatures to watch in your yard and on your walk.

As always love hearing about your animal/bird friends you
come across.

Whwn I was hanging out washing swa my blue tongue lizard
sunning herself near the compost bin.
It was really warm here and thank goodness we had a shower
during the night to cool things off.

Our balcony was 'littered' with house finches today. My cats, on the other side of the sliding glass door, were going nuts while the birds hopped in all my planters and climbed on the furniture. The gals look like their second broods will be arriving any day. I get nervous when baby animals arrive as the weather gets colder.

You know it would help if you posted pictures of the critters you are talking about. As a big city girl, I have no idea what you are talking about.

I'll add my comment to the others -- why the loss of appetite? Are you feeling better? It's 49 here right now, and I'm not sure I'm ready for it even though I griped non-stop about the horrible summer heat.

Quit feeding Squeaker those sugary snacks!

Why have you lost your appetite? Mine usually gets better with cooler weather.

Take care, my friend, and have a GREAT day. Busy day for me today. We leave in the morning.

I will stay in touch as time allows.

Hugs, Sunny

Gee, I am glad it has gotten cooler at your house, it may have saved your husband's life, without an air conditioner and all! I bet he is happy now! I am with you, I cannot stand heat, I get very uncomfortable and cranky. emoticon

We had a lot of rain a few days ago, and the temperature in the evening was less than the morning temp - it dropped to 68 here in New Mexico. Couple of days later, we popped back up to the mid-80's.

It was cold last night camping too, low in the 40's BRRRR glad my hubby let me use his mummy bag, though the poor thing froze instead of me :(

Didn't see any nifty animals other than ducks and geese, lots of loud people will do that. Saw a lot of people in really cool outfits though.

I should set up a feeder outside my computer room window, the oak tree in the back *should* be strong enough to support one now. Something to think about.

Enjoy your Monday!
