Walk over Stanton moor

Sunday, September 26, 2010

Today our walk started from the village of Birchover in the Derbyshire Peak District (http://www.derbyshire-peakdis
trict.co.uk/birchoverwalk.
htm)
It was a 3 mile walk with interesting things to see, it took us over Stanton moor to the nine ladies stone circle (http://www.peakdistrictinform
ation.com/visits/stanton.php) through woodland to Earl Grey Tower where we stopped for lunch. After lunch we continued over the moors which had great views over Darley Dale and the Peak Rail steam railway, we followed the path through a campsite where we saw peacocks and Alpaca's and continued on back to Birchover.
