Well, after having to carry Jacob home on our last two hikes, I have officially exacerbated my back injury. It hurts to do everything. It also hurts to do nothing. I did my Yoga for Back Pain DVD, and it actually made it worse
Obviously, my body is telling me I need to go in a new direction. I just need to figure out which direction that may be.
I find it so much more motivating to eat healthy when I'm working out. However, I know that each pound I lose is going to take pressure off my back and reduce my risk of having this pain flare up again in the future.
This week I started an eating plan of my own design which I like to call "Cook it Your Da*n Self" eating...I realized how many calories (and how much of my hard earned $$$) I was wasting on restaurant food, and decided I could eat what I wanted so long as I cooked it myself. I found that I could cook almost everything I like to eat from a restaurant for at least 50% less calories and cost, and I'm going to continue with that.
I am fighting the urge to self medicate this back pain with food. I gave in and ate yesterday and today through the pain, but I'm putting a stop to it right now. OREOS WILL NOT MAKE MY BACK FEEL ANY BETTER. They surely don't make my jeans fit better, either.
