Had a laugh.....saw this on my nieces link today.........
"Remember back when you were a kid and you dreamed of being an adult? How's that working out for you???"
There are days that I just wanna grab my crayons & curl up in somebodies lap. And when I'm hurting, I just want someone to "kiss it & make it better"!!!
Luckily, while I sit at my sewing machine, I get to play with lots of colors!! Must be why my sewing is so relaxing for me, it's like allowing my inner child to play!
Last night, I took a gander down the steps at the growing mound of garbage. With self-talk....I managed to get down the steps, got all the trash into my bucket, headed into the garage to back the van out, reached for my.........dang, forgot my garage door opener on the desk (upstairs). lol Okay....so I didn't go out to eat, but I did accomplish 2 out of 3 of my tasks. Got a FULL bucket of garbage dragged out to the end of my driveway & retrieved mail from the last 4 days. Didn't really exert myself too much, so climbing back up was with minimal pain & only took about a minute.....instead of my 90 min stint from last week. YEA!!!
Between the engorgment of my Lymphatic leg and the arthritis in my knees ~ some days it's near impossible to climb my 9 steps without lots of huffing & puffing & screaming in pain.
Monday, I was browsing the internet for 'stair chair lifts' and found 3 companies ~ Acorn, Bruno, and AmeriGlide. Of course they all come with weight capacity restrictions and I thought if I weighed some of these "max amounts", I would have no need for a chair lift ~ as they were 75 to 100# less than where I'm at.
One of my good friends pointed out that wouldn't a chair lift be my enabler to stay the same? And wouldn't it be better to continue to work on my body ~ improve myself & gain better mobility using "baby steps" with exercising?
Gail you are so WISE!! She knows the procrastinator side of me....the gal that's still hooked on Dairy Queen blizzards & drive thru chicken club sandwiches.
Time to put away my crayons, put on my big girl panties and get that pedaler moving ~ get some circulation moving in my legs and help solidify my "flying squirrel" arms. Every little bit helps....I just have to give it some effort.
