Trying to Lower My Cholesterol through Diet (& exercise)

emoticonI'm happy to report that I lost a pound but more importantly 1% body fat, which hasn't budged on my scale for quite awhile! emoticon I recently saw a program on KPBS called "Coping with Diabetes" by Dr. Neal Barnard, who also addresses other issues such as High Cholesterol through a vegan diet. Of course, exercise is extremely important too. I'm hoping this vegan diet will lower my cholesterol like it is suppose to. It does make sense...there is cholesterol (not the same stuff as fat- it's actually in the muscle cells so Low Fat doesn't matter--I didn't know that!) in animal products (meat & dairy) emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon but there is zero cholesterol in plant products (fruit, veggies, grains, and beans) emoticon emoticon emoticon Once I remove the cholesterol from my diet, my body is suppose to correct itself. I'm going to get my cholesterol tested again soon. I'll keep you posted on my results. I'm excited that there may be a way to avoid taking a medication! The diet (or lifestlyle change) is suppose to help Diabetics to get off medication too. If you want more info go to NutritionMD.org
