My first two classes are great - working hard, quiet, focused.
My third class, however - well, let's just say they don't necessarily care about being in art class. Plus half of the class was at a team meeting (academic teams, not sports) and so they came to my class about half an hour late. The team leader teacher (a former student of mine) didn't post a note in the office, so I marked all the students absent before I realized they were probably at some meeting. When the kids showed up, I sent them for a note - teacher finally came and let me know what was going on with the students.
Then, I'm supposed to be helping the steel band teacher write a grant application - due Thursday. He wasn't around when I went looking for him (he teaches steel pan at two schools) - so I don't know when I'm supposed to help him. I can't write it for him, I don't know what he does or how he does it - but he hasn't written a thing yet. So I don't see how I can help him - and I suspect he thinks I'm going to write it all for him. Sigh.
Finally - I went to the Office of the Lt. Gov., to get a certificate of good standing for my art program - we need this for our grant application (same one, due Thursday) - and of course the guidelines have changed and now they want people to submit a request 2 weeks in advance. I had to apologize up down and sideways, explain I didn't know about this change, and could I please please please get this certificate in 3 days since I need it for this after school program and we can't let the kids suffer. The receptionist finally called the director who took pity on me and said she'd personally work on it, but she had to run to a meeting.
Sigh. Some days just don't flow. Every task has it's own stumbling block. My toes are all stubbed from today.
