A Day of Respite

Monday, September 20, 2010

At least I'm not out on the road today. This looks like one of those weeks where i will spend more time in my car than i really want to. Oh well, it's all part of the job. I am looking forward to the interaction with church leaders as well as some old friends from across the state.

It is simply the fact that I will be away from home so much this week that is causing me some frustration. My eight-year-old reminds me of how much I am missing out on by being gone so much.

I know that many of us struggle with these challenges, but that still doesn't help me cope with them any better.

Now I feel a little better, just getting those emotions out there.

I am trying to dial back some stuff as well. I want to do so much more, but I need to work on getting my family life back on a more even keel with my church life.

Just remember to cherish the time that you do have and try to carve out a special activity with each family member.

I haven't had to travel in a number of years but I certainly can empathize. It's tough. But, keep the time you do have quality and your 8-year-old will understand down the line. Be strong brother.

It's so cool when just typing the emotion out helps. Thanks for sharing.
