My husband and I were talking over dinner last night. As I was eating my super delicious Greek Pizza I started thinking. I have read all these blogs where people who have lost a lot of weight have many different people asking them for tips on how they did it.
Eventually, that will be me. I'll meet someone on the street that I haven't seen in a long time and they'll say to me, "Oh my goodness, you look amazing. How did you do it?" Do you know what my response would be? I'll baffle them by saying, "By eating lots of pizza and ice cream."
Teehee, I can't wait for their shocked faces.
At this point I have only lost 10 pounds, but I feel that that is a great accomplishment considering that I am losing weight and there is not a single day where I have felt deprived of my favorite foods. I have just learned the value of portion control and healthier substitutes for the things that I love.
If your wondering how in the world I fit pizza and ice cream into my diet/life style change, here is how. When I eat pizza I no longer order from a restaurant. I can fit it in, but I get more pizza for the calories if I just buy the frozen kind. Last night we had Palermo's Greek Pizza which is a thin crust pizza with olives, tomatoes and feta cheese (yummy). My husband and I share the pizzas by having half each. If you look for the thin crust pizzas you can usually eat a half for 400-500 calories.
I usually get a sweet tooth at night, so I save my sweet treat desserts for my nightly snack. I buy Jello Pudding Pops (90 calories per pop), Weight Watchers Giant Mocha Bars (100 calories per bar) or when going out I go to my favorite local place, Zack's frozen yogurt which has fat free strawberry cheesecake swirl (126 calories for 6 oz.).
So there you go, healthy eating with pizza and ice cream. Man, who needs a cheat day?
