... today I learned why my feet don't reach my butt...

Yup - tight Quads!

I have been advised to do 5 on each leg of this Standing Quad Stretch and hold for 10-30 seconds.

My left foot actually touched my butt again! Great reunion!!

**edit: by last night my right heel met my butt! WooHoo!
**edit: today I was able to sit cross-legged on the floor! my knees are too high, but I was sitting cross-legged!! emoticon woohoo!

**it is Sunday and I have been doing this stretch for 6 days now and not only can I now touch my butt with either foot while wearing shoes, I discovered that my knees are also finding a lower position - more towards the floor - and my heels are closer to my body! A definite win-win situation!

I wonder if tight quads are to blame for my inability to touch my butt to my feet in Child's Pose...

I wave at my heels when I try to touch them in the pool! I know that they are back there. One day I'll be able to blog like YOU! Love ya, Dawn emoticon

Quads are a very important stretch for me.

Thanks so much for the link to Coach Nicole's instructions. I always stretch my quads, but I don't always have a great method. Thank you for the wonderful tip and best wishes to you and your family as you continue your journey.

Great! Running and walking a lot tighten up the quads. That's why it's such a common runner's stretch.

    Well, now I know!

I can't sit on my heels, and now I know what to do about it.

Thanks for blogging!
