I was going to title this 'Long Time No Blog' but that was what I did for the last one, also a kind of mea culpa for being a 3-month blogsentee. Ah well, there's nothing like routine.
Speaking of which, everything is going well. I'm eating within range (well, nibbling at the bottom limit, dangit) and have been getting better calcium intake largely thanks to chia seeds. I also had a two month experiment with taking protein powders post-workout to see if they made any difference to recovery, muscle growth or general wellbeing. Absolutely zero effect that I am aware of. I still have post-workout snacks obviously and I do pay attention to protein but I believe the quantities of protein recommended by SP are excessive.
Exercise-wise I've started training for my half-marathon which will be in early November. I'm enjoying the program and all the other regular exercise I get: cycling, walking, weights and occasionally soccer.
And apropos of that I spent a chunk of hard-earned to go toot my vuvuzela at the World Cup in South Africa. Here's me at Soccer City in Johannesburg for the final, supporting the wrong team as usual!
And my weight's pretty much where I want it to be. A few friends have used the s-word - that's SKINNY, not SH*THEAD thank you very much! - recently so I suppose the changes must be visible.
