30 day challenge day 6

Monday, September 13, 2010

Couldn't have picked a better topic today if I planned it! Today's challenge topic is "someone who inspires you" I can give you one name that jumps right to the forefront of my mind, KACI! She is my ultimate inspiration. Not only is she very positive and will help if you want it, but she supports you and is just there when you don't want to be told what you should (or shouldn't) be doing. But that is how she MOTIVATES me. This blog is about how she INSPIRES me. I can do that in one sentence: Completed half marathon! Today! My Kaci is a rock star and even beat the goal she had set for herself. I couldn't be more proud of her than I am right now. Her journey has brought her so far, I see in her that I can be that person I want to be. I can be healthy and active. I can do ANYTHING I put my mind to. Thank you Kaci for being that inspiration. I am gonna run a 5k next month, mostly because you showed me that I can do it.

Today fitness and nutrition wise were both good. Harder since I had to sit through a lunch meeting, so I had to pack something to take with me. Having forgot that I was going to said meeting, I didn't have the things on hand that I could have to make this healthier, so I had pb&j. lol. Hey, at least it was on WHEAT BREAD!

Hey speaking of running a 5k (3.1 miles in case you were wondering) I did it today. I did a 5 minute warm up, then jogged for 35 minutes, then a cool down. Finished the 3.1 miles in 43ish minutes. Next time I should have a better estimate of time. Bringing a stopwatch! lol. My total jog tonight was 3.4 miles and it took me 50 minutes. Not too shabby!

Daily Recap:
*1466 calories
*83 g protien
*33 g fiber
*2919 g sodium
*50 fitness minutes
*500 calories burned

One last question my spark friends! I changed my settings to loose my weight quicker, and have fiddled with the fitness minute goals so that they reflect my weekly burn. The current calorie goals have me eating between 1200-1550 calories. Does anyone know if spark would set them so low that it would be counter effective? How long would I need to maintain this lower calorie intake before I know? I am just SO worried, but last month sucked and I needed to change something! HELP! My burn "goal" is 2290 and I hit that weekly at least. Hopefully that is all the info you need. =) Thank you my friends!

YAY! Congrats on your 3.1 miles! Wish I had good advice on your question, but it's hard to tell really how long things will take to work. I know the lower calorie range I use has helped me pretty much this whole time, but everybody's different. In general to lose a pound a week you need to burn 500 calories over what you eat every day, though that's not always a guarantee since there are many factors in the whole weight loss thing. If only it was simple!
