My dear daughter, knowing what a huge challenge i have facing me this week, took me to her significant others lakeside cottage after we delivered the cake.
first, the cake. we got there (hour and some drive) only to find there was a parade for the battle of plattsburgh (we are talking revolutionary war here) and we couldnt get through! i called the venue frantic..it took close to an hour to get CLOSE to the place, we were nearing reception time. she talked us in back roads, then says..tell those redcoats to let you through!! so i rolled down the window, told the traffic guy i had a wedding cake that needed to be delivered an hour earlier, and he stopped the whole flockin parade and let us through. getting back out was a nightmare..they werent so kind. so, i told them we had to go get another one and were late...LOL voila..but we still took another hour. we shoulda been outta there at 1..it was 3 by the time we got out of the traffic. sooo..we went to Sams for supplies, went and got Riley my new grand puppy, and headed to the lake.
lovely place. unfortunately the swimming was NOT lovely. slime covered rocks, only knee high water off the dock, and nasties in the water so i didnt go in. plus it was cold..but that never stopped me. Katie made dinner, we watched some tv, i knit a little, caught up on netflix, and enjoyed not having ANYTHING to do.
of course, at 4 am i woke up with my brain going..how am i going to teach full time, PLUS get all the cakes done...how how how. Things look better in the light though. As Alison says..i WILL get through it. only one week is REALLY bad (this week) then it should be doable.
anyhow..thats my story for today!
