Prime of My Life

Saturday, September 11, 2010

My husband made a reference yesterday about how we never went anywhere when we were in our "prime". I don't believe that was my prime. Maybe MY prime is today, or in the future. I feel better than I did in my 20's. I am not 300 pounds..., being 300 pounds doesn't feel "prime" to me. Running in that half marathon felt more "prime" to me. I like my 30's and I think the 40's will be even better. Age is just a number. My life has only just begun.

I think about this all the time (this blog). I read it from my phone when you first posted it, and I have trouble saving comments from there, looks like they didn't save.

Anyway, I agree, Jeannie!! And this is the same kind of sentiment that I'm trying to (unsuccessfully) convince my husband. It is possible for him to enter his 50s (starting a few years from now) being in the best shape of his life. He has lost weight, but still laments the fact that he looks fat in pictures, or doesn't like how his old double chin hangs down.. It's infuriating, the negativity.

If we don't stop to realize how wonderful we each are, RIGHT NOW, and appreciate it, then how will we remember our "prime"? How can you define your prime as being in your past unless you've only foresee a dark and dreary future. Ugh!

You are beautiful, and I am so proud of you!!

    Hell yeah on the priminess.

You're as prime as you want to be.

My twenties were filled with bad dates and bad hair. My thirties were fat-filled.

My late forties are pretty dang cool. Yours will be, too, I predict. :)

My 30s were way better than my 20s - and I am loving my 40s! You have lots of prime years ahead!

Love this blog and your attitude. I couldn't agree more-- being healthy and happy is so much more of a "prime" than simply being young. Here's to reinventing the definition of prime!

Prime is whatever you make it.
