For people who don't track tropical weather systems, an invest is an area of disturbed weather that has potential for growing into a tropical depression, then a tropical storm, and then a hurricane.
So Invest 91 started down by Venezuela, and is drifting NNW, through the Caribbean - nice warm water.
I don't know if it has grown in strength, but it sure has grown in size. We had rain in the early morning, strong wind all morning, and by noon it started raining. Now, it's very dark (4 PM) and pouring rain and there's thunder in the distance. I think this thing is growing on top of us, just as Earl did.
We're like a tiny dot in the hurricane bowling alley. We don't even make a dent in their development, our island is so small.
And of course all eyes are on the potentially evil Igor, most unfortunately named. Plus a wave that's in back of him.
Sometimes I wonder why we live here.....most of the time it's beautiful (as it was for my morning walk) ............ but then the weather turns on us, and becomes a destructive force.
All we can do is prepare, then wait and see.
