Small Changes Equal Good Feelings. . .

So Happy Friday Sparkfam! Its a beautiful 75degrees here in Chicago & its a wonderful day to get out & walk. I didn't have a chance so I popped in Leslie Sansone Walk DVD. Wasn't as picturesque but it was a heart smart decision to make. I also did Cathe Supersets this morning & I feel good! Today I had a twinkie with carnation strawberry breakfast drink after my workout. At work I coffee (w/cream & sugar), a slice of toast w/butter & jelly for breakfast. The biggest change is for lunch I had a HUGE baked potato with butter, red pepper flakes, black pepper & a dash of salt:

It was so delicious & I guess a little selfish because I should've bought two. My co-worker just kept coming by & smelling my fresh baked potatoes. I tried to not use butter but I could not. Does anyone have any substitution advice? With that I had green tea. I had to put TWO sugar packets in cause it is so gross! But you know what, I craved it over the weekend. So the small changes are equalling good feelings! Even my husband commented that my calves are getting muscular. I was like I hate to do squats, push ups & calf lifts but I do love to walk/jog in place while cooking food & while watching tv. So my waist is getting smaller & my body is toning up but I am working on getting the numbers down. I haven't eaten any meat today! ? emoticon emoticon emoticon

What small changes are you making it could be daily, weekly or long term?

    I rarely the potatoes they wreck my sugars but some times I eat small ones with cottage cheese, or Light mayo also smart balance spread with olive oil. If i want to be bad with mozzerala cheese emoticon , Could even make stuffed spud with roasted red and green peppers with cooked onions if you wanted protein use ground turkey. Potatoes are so versatile.

    Light sour cream is great if you like sour cream. Salsa is good to. I use some of the spreads that helps lower cholesterol and have olive oil in it. Can't remember the name. lol But they also have sour cream. I've used I can't believe it's Not Butter and it does me good. Homemade Chili works great. I can't eat many white potatoes because of the carbs. You work out enough to eat butter in moderation. Butter has some great health benefits.

    There is a butter substitute called Brummel and Brown. It is whipped yogurt. It has less calories and fat than real butter, but it tastes just like butter. I almost like it more than butter!

    Yum! that baked potato looks and sounds amazing! Whenever we make baked potatoes we use really good extra virgin olive oil on them instead of butter. Now of course, being Greek we have really good oil around all the time, but I'm sure if you can find good quality olive oil in Chicago....give it a try, you don't have to use much either.

Oh, and great job with your workout! I didn't workout again today...2 days in a row...and I feel so bad about it :(((
