Surviving another challenge...

Friday, September 10, 2010

Dealing with optical neuritis isn't fun...can't do much when you can't see. Thank goodness for music and books on tape.

I'm not as bad as Mr. Magoo, but it's very hard to focus for long periods.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that I'm still around

...STARTING FROM SCRATCH, but I haven't given up.

My husband bought something for my bike so I can pedal away in the comfort of my home. My dogs don't like it but that's O.K. I just wish it had something to measure the distance. I can at least keep track of the time and "guesstimate" on my mileage.

My hour of computer time is just about here so have a great weekend everyone!!

There is a little computer you can buy for your bike to measure your speed, mileage, cadence, etc when you are riding stationary. Make sure you get the one for the back wheel because most of the ones they sell are for riding outside and go on your front tire (which does not move when you are riding a trainer:) I have one on my bike because I am such a numbers junkie that I might not ride if I couldn't count my miles! Of course I do go to spin class and do what you mentioned...I multiply the time by my normal riding speed to get my both will work...I just love having real data;-) If you need help finding one let me know I would be happy to help!

Do think of you, and sorry you are really being challenged at the moment - several of my clients use the hearing tapes and love being able to 'read' their books still - its a Godsend to them when they feel so isolated in the 'literary' sense.

won't deny we're missing your chit chat on the team, but understand perfectly.

Hope you are still enjoying that little one - or are you at the toddling stage already?

Take good care and will remember to send up a little prayer for you every now and again my friend.

Hang in there! I know it can't be much fun to not be able to see clearly; I'm a big ol' bookworm. I'm glad you can get some pedaling in again.

That is what I call Great Creativitly. It is so hard to come up with good exercise ideas when MS flairs its ugly head.

Feel better soon.

Welcome Back! It really doesn't matter how far you ride your bike. It's more about getting on & just riding. The minutes will add up to miles.
