The mile high plate of donuts was in my office today- there seems to be a theme to that saying. Krispy Kreme- chocolate, kruellers, powdered- all of which used to be exciting to me- I would easily eat six (they were the mini ones). Instead, I took out my banana, ate it. Ok, I can handle this! Hmmm, hungry, light string cheese for some protein. Still no donuts....and I made it- I made it through the whole day with no donuts! Yay me!
I have been working my butt off lately, tracking, working out HARD- why would I put those tiny little bites of fat in my mouth? I simply thought back to my hour long cardio session last night when I had sweat stinging my eyes, how good it felt to step on the scale a pound lighter this morning, and OH NO- I am not going to ruin it with donuts!
Amazing! Easy! Simple! No feeling guilty, no longingly starting at them, healthy is better! My day was so busy today, insane, non stop from 5:30 am and on. Kids, work, running errands, picking up my son, making dinner, strength training for an hour, eating dinner, kids showered, ready for bed, tucking in, cleaning up the kitchen, laundry- we all know the daily drill of busyness, no matter what it might be!
I felt really great leaving work, my BF and I "made over" a SP recipe- changing white rice to brown, using low sodium soup, less butter (not the "real" kind of course), cooking chicken in non fat spray- it was yummy! It was worth the extra effort!
I AM worth the extra daily effort!
