It Sure Feels Like Fall!

Monday, September 06, 2010

Woke cold thins morning and had to shut the window, Since I was up now I got dressed and went into the living to spark while the kettle was on for my coffee. I had to close the living room window, it was cold and I wasn't imagining it. It was 14c, so the TV to me. I put on a sweatshirt, made my coffee and put it into a stainless coffee mug grabbed my MP# and keys and headed out the door for a walk,

It was so nice a crisp outside and no one was around only a few cars going to work or to church or some place important.

I set my mio watch to start counting the steps and went at a brisk walk up the hill for ten blocks, cross the street and turned back down to come back the other way listening to Shania Twains Any man of mine and a few more of her songs that I had down loaded.

Got back home and noted the time but not my steps, wished I had. Came in the door and took off my runners and put my stuff away and made breakfast and another cup of coffee and sat down to spark again.

This time I went to log in my steps on the fitness tracker and that's when I notice that my MIo watch has reset the the time, date and my steps to zero. I took my watch off and threw it done not hard. So I thought well I know how long my walk is and I know how many miles I can do in fifteen minutes so I will guess at my steps. I know it was over 10,000 because I have done this walk so many times before but I honestly can't remember how many to be exact.

By the time I had my third glass of water( no more coffee for me) I felt calmer. I will go out and buy a clip on pedometer at the store since I have to go out again and get some more fresh air.

I took a nap for an hour and when I woke up I remember that I still have my sportsline pedometer and ran into the bedroom to find it. After five minutes I found it in my desk drawer smiling up at me and bonus it still works. I am so thankful that I still have it and didn't have to buy another cheap one.

I sent an email to the company and told them about my MIO watch and how it keep resetting itself and wanted to know if they had any answers. The battery is still new in fact it is only 3 months old so it is not that, It did not get wet, I don't wear it on my wrist when cleaning or doing dishes. I have it in my pocket. I am stumped.

So for the next while I will use my sportline to track my steps and time and nothing else. It is better than not having any thing to count.

Made a healthy steak dinner with rice and mixed asian vegetable with added broccoli, carrots and mushrooms and a nice sauce for the drippings for John when he comes home in ten minutes, he works till 11pm tonight.

Tomorrow is his day off and we are going to head to our dads place, we haven't seen him in a month because of the flu and cold that I had. I can't afford for him to get sick when he is still recovering from his quadruple bypass.

I know I am a very good daughter, his health is still improving daily.

The rest of the night was searching for leads for a job on the computer and printing out more resumes and doing some knitting.

Well John just drove up so I best sign off now and finished heating up his dinner.

Have a great day tomorrow. I might not be around until night time.

Sorry about your watch but glad that you enjoyed the cool weather and got to stepping. I love walking when it is cooler. I can walk faster and further without the heat and humidity. Have a healthy, happy and safe Labor Day!!

One thing about cool weather, its great to exercise in! Sorry about your watch, I hope you get some satisfaction out of the company you bought it from. Good for you staying away from your dad while you are sick. I wish more people would not go out in public, or to work when they are sick, it just spreads it around.
Enjoy your day!

Our weather is the same, three days of cold, wind and rain...sheesh Tuesday and Wednesday we were at 43C and now we are below seasonal!!

I have never found a pedometer that I like and have found a number of on-line step/mileage trackers to be more helpful. If you want I will find the links for you.

Have a great Labour Day Monday!

emoticon I use the google tracker for mileage and work out what calories I have burnt that way. I used pedometers years ago and I found them a real nuisance, resetting and not recording accurately. emoticon
Have a great day. emoticon

It is cool here on the east coast also. I see the sun is starting to shine brightly, so it will warm up.

Sounds like you had a great walk. Have a great labor day. emoticon
