My Journey...

In May 2008, I began my journey with Sparkpeople. All went well the first 17 months...I lost 50 lbs and reached my goal. I was able to keep the weight off from September 28 2009 to around Thanksgiving of that year! Not very long!

Now, two years later, I am struggling to lose the 10 or so lbs I have gained back by not being diligent and true to the habits I have gained by being a Sparkpeople member.

My motto at the beginning of this year...2010...was to be thin in 2010. I am now 24 days away from the one year anniversary of reaching my goal. I know I cannot reach it by the 28th, but sure hope to do so by Christmas.

Will you join me in this last three months? We can do it, if we do it right!

    You may not have made the original goal, but you are still going to meet you destination. I too, lost and by not being vigilant regained 30 pounds. I didn't meet my goal of Sept. 1st, and am trying to get to it by Thanksgiving. It's only 3 more pounds, but they are coming off so slow I am not sure if I will make it. But if not, I will just keep moving forward.

You look skinner than the last time I saw a picture of you! Something must be working!!! Hang in there goals may not always happen when we want them to, but that's not to say they will not happen! emoticon

I just came across your page due to your receiving the motivational feature. Fantastic!


I have been on for 3 months and I set a "feel good goal weight" of 124 by 12-24-10. (Or I think that was the date I set - will have to double check - memory eludes me at times). I have had a REAL struggle with that so far, but it is my intention to meet that goal.

I did meet a goal I never dreamed: I WALKED my first timed 5k. I was so thrilled that I sat around in my "race" clothes for several hours afterwards, not BELIEVING I actually did it. HA HA!

So I WILL JOIN YOU! emoticon Gwen

    Hi Jean;

I have stopped by because you are 1 of my spark friends and i would like to keep up with how you are doing. You have lost a lot of weight and you are having a struggle keeping it off. If you take 1 day at a time and do your healthy eating, routine exercises you can reach you goal. What are you doing that is setting you back? I will stand by you and help if I can. You look great in the black and white outfit. It is really becoming, i like it a lot my style. Stay true to yourself and strong in what you want. God bless and keep you.

    Hi Jean
One of the great things we can do is to express in writing something we have done or desire to do. You have done both. So, I will say to you, you know that you can do something, because you have done so. You express a commitment that you HOPE you can reach by Christmas. I would like to see you change that to you WILL do it. You have to believe it, you know that you have before and accept the fact that not only that you can, but that you WILL.
I believe you will and will support you 100% for you to accomplish that goal.
