Yesterday was a dismal day (see previous post).
I went to bed at 11 and woke up at 2 am totally overheated, I had turned off the central AC in an effort to save money, not expecting a warm night. I opened my bedroom windows and go back to sleep and wake up again at 5 am. I drag my weary body out of bed and begin my day,
My goal each day is have one hour of cardio, burning at least 200 calories. I finished the Advanced Obstacle Course on Wii Fit Plus with five seconds to spare. Whew! Then I FINALLY conquered the Expert Course on Bicycling. Last time it took me 58 minutes and I still hadn't found all the flags. This time I did it in 28 minutes. Wow! Now what was I going to do for the rest of my hour? I tried skateboarding, which was difficult but fun. I'm definitely going to try some more of that. Finished my hour burning 202 calories.
Now to make lunch. I went into the garage which has an extended pantry for my kitchen and found that the ten trays of pears I set out to ripen were now ALL ripe. I needed to can them TODAY!
So I finish eating my lunch and began to can. If you have never canned, pears are one of the most frustrating because you actually need to peel each pear with a vegetable peeler. Then the pears get slippery as you peel them. Five and a half hours later I was done and had 25 quarts of pears to show for it. I like canning my own pears because I put very little sugar in them.
In the evening I got a call from a friend who is having difficulties with her daughter's pre-school. Gos,h did I know of anyone who had an opening, or did I have an opening at my day care. (A client of mine turned in her notice yesterday). What timing! So all my worry yesterday was for naught.
I was able to reap the harvest of my parent's pear tree and gained 25 quarts of pears. And I was able to reap the harvest of a new client (who wants more days than the client I just lost so I am now in a better financial position than I was yesterday.)
Yes, God is good.
