Diabetes 5K Walk...

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

Back in 2005, I did the Walk for Diabetes. That was before my healthy living journey. I received a size 2XL shirt back then but loved the walk for the cure! Back then I was simply doing it for that, the cure, and for my grandparents who both have diabetes.

Now... I signed up again for this coming October 2010. I asked for a size S/M shirt and I am walking in honor of not only my grandparents... but my grandmothers cousin, Donnie... who just passed away this August and too, had serious diabetes. His families only request was to make donations in his honor to the American Diabetes Association... which I am now walking in his honor along with my mother... and my grandparents are virtual walkers.

I am not in any way soliciting here... You have no obligation... My goal is set at $150... I wasn't aiming too high... I know anything helps deep down. If you would like to help me on my goal and in honor of my grandmothers cousin who was a member of the Sea Bee's... and was one of the kindest people you could ever meet... Feel free too, and it would be much appreciated. $1.00 goes a long way. There is no minimum. I don't have a lot of family or friends... but I know a lot of my sparker friends who support this cause! If you can not donate, maybe look into doing a walk in your area! They are so much fun and are available for a wide array of good causes!

I hope ya'll have a wonderful September!

That is a great cause and I support you all the way. I hope you blow your goal away and enjoy the walk. Wow, a size small t-shirt, that is great. I used to be a 2XL too but I am down to a large. It seems like I kind of skipped the XL category all together. I don't know that I will ever wear a small but maybe someday.

KR, I will be supporting you in prayer. If I can make a donation, I will. I have done the Diabetes Walk for several years in memory of my dad and because I am a diabetic. I think it is Great now that you are wearing a small size!
GOD BLESS!

YOU GO GIRL! I am also running a 5k in support of Breast Cancer. We are doing good for our communities! YAY! Enjoy your size small, I am still at the 2XL stage but can't wait to run this again in a few years at size small like you!

Still an inspiration to me. Thanks

Cherry
