Cooking Faux Pas Numero Uno

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Eeeek, I did the unthinkable, I cooked something that I thought would turn out good just by the sound of it and it didn't. Wahhhhh! Ever had one of those days where you think something is going to be really good to try and cook and it turns out not to be?

So I decided to make a pot of jasmine rice...ahhh that beautiful scented Thai rice that smells and tastes so lovely. After 45 min. it was done and then the worst part started. I added coconut butter to it. BIG MISTAKE! It smelled wonderful but it tasted like crap! Ugh, what a waste of a whole cup of Jasmine rice.

Oh well, guess I'll try something different on my next cooking venture.

Have a super week to all my Spark Friends!

I hate it when that happens.....particularly if I have spent a lot of time on it.

Too bad. Next time cook a double batch of rice---it's always good to have on hand and then if your experiment does not work you still have the rice.

Good luck on your next food experiment.

It's days like that when I'm glad I have a compost bin so that my cooking mistakes can serve a useful purpose!
