First 5K Completed

Saturday, August 28, 2010

I Did It!!! I finished. Vickie and I did it in 44 minutes. Walking, mostly, but we ran probably about a mile all added together. I feel so good! I registered for this 5K before I started running, so it was never my intention to run it, but I did some of it, and I am proud of myself! emoticon

I know I pushed her to run more than she wanted to. She kept saying "I don't know if I can" or "If I can make it." and each time she said it I could hear myself say it a few weeks ago, so of course, I am still alive so I knew she would be too! And We crossed the finish line and we weren't last (which was the only goal that we really had for ourselves! LOL) so it has been successful. Thanks for all the well wishes, and everyone who came out to cheer me on, and all your comments.

Now I ask, "When is the next one?"

Great accomplish! It is amazing what a person can do once they put her mind to it. I know what you meant when you asked "When is the next one?" because four years ago I did my first race and now I run between 7 & 10 races a year. I wish I could do more. There is definitely truth to "A Runner's High". Good Luck on your next one!

Congratulations! I'm so glad you guys had a good time. Once you start running organized races, you just get hooked. I can't wait for my next one!

Emily, you looked so happy and STRONG at the finish and it was obvious that you had a blast doing this for YOU! You said exactly what is very normal and that is...When is the next one?
