This was a strange summer. I'm 40 now, and all I can say is "Thank God!" It's about time. Turning 40 takes a lot of pressure off. No one really cares what you look like if you're 40 or older, because you're too old! and they're surprised and complimentary if you look good at all!
Makes me laugh. I feel like I'm surrounded by a world of people who only know numbers, and it's kind of surreal.
I've been up and down since last posting, like I've been the last 10 years... however, I'm back on track again, and feel like I'm really going to make a permanent lifestyle change this time, that will lead to slow weight loss, greater muscle tone, greater strength, and decent cardiovascular health (not great 'cos I'm still smoking...).
I've been reading "The Female Body Breakthrough", and I love the practical common sense approach, the emphasis on strength training, the Fit Female Credo (which helps change the way you think about food and your body), and the "coach" approach the writer has in tone.
A quick warning though... this author is one savvy business person as well. I think the book is great, and I think the writer/coach started with the idea and hope of helping women everywhere find their strength and health, but I also think over time it's turned into a huge money-making business for her, and she's currently churning out the same stuff she started with. The book is awesome, written well, a great coaching perspective, and full of information. The website is pure marketing and profit.
That's enough for my book review, and I have to go! Take care all.
