Who says you can't relive your teens??!!!

Saturday, August 21, 2010

For those of you who do not believe that you and relive your teens I have PROOF that you can, in fact, do so! Today was a pretty amazing day, my husband and I went to our favorite local restaurant this morning for breakfast. Since we were "out and about" he mentioned that he really needed to get a shave and a haircut (TRUST ME it cost MUCH more than "two bits!" LOL). As our selected mode of transportation was our scooters I suggested that he go ahead to the barber and I would continue to the local mall where he could meet me after he was done. He agreed that was a good idea and off we went...

First, let me preface this with a factoid about me...I DO NOT and NEVER HAVE enjoyed clothes shopping...it is just tedious for me...regardless of whether I am skinny or not! (Sorry ladies, some of us just are not cut out to answer the "call of the mall!")

However, as my clothes continue to get baggier and baggier (Even the pants I just purchased three weeks ago for crying out loud! Remember, I do not like clothes shopping. BUT I am grateful and happy that I can "complain" about the clothes being too big vice too small for the first time in more years than I can remember!) I decided to "bite the bullet" and check out some of the sale racks in one of the "anchor stores" at the mall.

I started pulling some things off of the racks which had "number sizes" vice "X sizes" figuring I was somewhere around a 22 or 20. I took my "loot" to the fitting room and put on the size 22's first...WOW! They were WAAAYYY too big (as in the zipper closure overlapped by five inches or more! I tried the 20's and they were too big as well! Oh.My.Goodness!!!!!

I was in such disbelieve I actually got dressed in my own clothes and went back out and pulled out some size 18 pants STILL thinking "no way!" (I usually only make it through one foray into the fitting rooms...proof positive that I was in TOTAL disbelief!)

Imagine my surprise when I slowly and apprehensively put one leg, then the other into the pants legs. Then, even more slowly, I pulled the pants up. THEN I started to zip the zipper and UP.IT.WENT -- smooth as silk! Not only did those pants FIT they fit WELL! WooHOO!!!

So, here I am reliving my teens! It CAN BE DONE!!!
