For this week's challenge, I need to go back and revisit my goals. I posted that blog on 7/12, in case you wanted to read it in its entirety :)
My goals were:
#1 -- Eat healthier and within my calorie range as often as possible. (I am aiming for a 75% success rate.) More fruits, more veggies, more fiber, better choices!
#2 -- Train for my half-marathon bike ride by actually getting on my bike! Of course, I can't neglect my strength training and other fitness activities.
#3 -- Keep my house clean and my kitchen decluttered!
And how have I done so far?
#1 -- Epic fail! While I was doing fairly well with this, my sister's weeklong visit really derailed me, and it has taken me a couple of days to get back in the swing of things. (Granted these are not viable excuses, but Thursday I went out for lunch with my man which NEVER happens and today I had to travel and meet up with another coworker so we had the buffet at Pizza Hut! Wednesday I was under my calories but didn't exercise, so I think that is more appropriate.) As I mentioned in my last blog, I need to get cracking to get in top wedding shape, so this is NOT acceptable to me! Grade: P! Despite the fact that I was doing well for a while, I am nowhere near my 75% success rate. I am getting more freggies and more fiber, but the horrendous calorie failures really make me grade myself down on this goal.
#2 -- I feel much better about this one. We biked quite regularly for a while, adding an extra lap (almost 1 mile) each time we went out until we were up to about 8 miles. Then we decided to bike the actual path I'll be taking for my HM, only to discover it's actually 17.75 miles! So I am definitely going to ace my HM since I've already done it, haha. Grade: I am only giving myself an A because I have not ridden for a couple of weeks due to the extreme humidity, and I'm going to have to get back out there to maintain my stamina, although I don't think I'll have too much trouble.
#3 -- Success! We have been keeping up on this (not 100% but enough that we don't have any more gigantic piles that take an hour to clear). Moving the shredder to the kitchen was a great idea and has helped out a lot. Having company also helps motivate you, haha. Right now, there are only a few pieces of mail on the counter, which is a huge improvement. Grade: O!
I will definitely be revisiting my nutrition goals and working much harder on those! Note to self: no more eating out! Your week of gluttony caused your self-control to flush itself down the toilet.
