Headaches and Dizziness .....

Friday, August 20, 2010

Good Morning SPF,

I am a 40 year old woman who maybe overweight, but by Gods' grace; I don't have any of the major health issues such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol etc ....
However, for the past day or so, I've woken up feeling dizzy (before even sitting up) and with a headache. I'm wondering what this is all about. It's not a bad headache, but still one nonetheless. Could it be my new lifestyle change? Here's what I had to eat yesterday:

Breakfast
Multigrain Oatmeal w/wheat germ and apple cinnamon bran which I blended like a smoothie. I added fresh blueberries, a tsp of whey protein, frozen mango, organic coconut milk (not the kind in the can .... so delicious coconut milk from whole foods) w/flaxseed oil.

Lunch
Romaine Lettuce Salad w/cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, goat cheese, avocado, and cesaer vinaigrette w/deli turkey slices and 1 blackbean veggie patty on the side. 2 glasses of water w/pomergranate drinking vinegar.

Dinner
Spaghetti w/ground turkey and lamb mixed (wonderful combo by the way) with fresh garlic cloves, red/green peppers, pom diced tomatoes (salt free) over wheat penne pasta and 2 slices of double fiber bread w/smart balance butter (yeah I know I could've omitted it) 1 glass of water w/pomergranate drinking vinegar and unsalted trail mix w/sunflower, cashew, almond and raisins.

Going forward ... I woke up to this dizzy feeling and headache and decided to have:

Breakfast
Egg White Omlette w/sauteed mushrooms and peppers/1 slice of plain double fiber toast and 2 tbsp salsa w/1 glass water w/pomergranate drinking vinegar.

It is now 10:20 and I still feel the same dizzy feeling and headache. And before you ask .... pregnancy is not a possibility!!! LOL emoticon emoticon

If this continues, I think I may need to walk on over to the ER ..... Perhaps I'm doing too much.
Go figure .....

Thanks for listening

    Thank you all so much.

@ CRNELSON ~ I DO EAT THESE FOODS ON A REGULAR BASIS; HOWEVER, NOT NECESSARILY COMBINED AS I HAVE BEEN. FOR EXAMPLE: I WILL HAVE THE OATMEAL W/EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE BLUEBERRIES (YUCK, BUT I HAVE TO LEARN TO LIKE THEM). I USUALLY HAVE GREEK YOGURT W/BLUEBERRIES ALONG SIDE OF THE OATMEAL. AS FAR AS THE FLAXSEED OIL, IT'S NEW TO MY DIET, BUT IT'S A (MUFA), WHICH I TRY TO INCORPORATE WITH EACH MEAL. ACCORDING TO THE FLAT BELLY DIET, WE SHOULD HAVE 1 MUFA WITH EACH MEAL. THE POMERGRANATE DRINKING VINEGAR, I USUALLY TAKE 1 TBSP EVERYDAY (WHICH IS PROBABLY CAUSING THE PROBLEM); HOWEVER, I ADD 1 TBSP. TO EACH GLASS OF WATER PER DAY; WHICH I PROBABLY SHOUL'NT TAKE MORE THAN ONCE A DAY.

@ CELLO23 ~ CAFFEINE MAYBE AN ISSUE BECAUSE I REALLY COULD USE A CUP OF COFFEE RIGHT ABOUT NOW, BUT DIDN'T THINK I COULD HAVE ANY. NOT TO SAY THAT I HAVEN'T INDULGED, BUT WHEN I DO; I FEEL AS THOUGH I'VE CHEATED BECAUSE I DO NOT LIKE BLACK COFFEE.

AS A SNACK, I HAD A MCDONALDS PARFAIT AND THEN ANGEL HAIR PASTA W/MUSHROMS, GREEN BEANS, RED PEPPER FLAKES AND A TAD BIT OF PROSCUITTO. OMG .... IT WAS SOOOOOO GOOD!!!

I THANK YOU ALL ONCE AGAIN AND I APPRECIATE ANY SUGGESTIONS OR ADVISE.

BE BLESSED,
NULYFE emoticon

Hi there - your food sounds lovely emoticon - am feeling hungry just reading! If you're not feeling hungry, then you're probably eating plenty, I guess, but I wondered if caffeine might be an issue? I rarely get headaches, but when I do, they're stonkers - and then I remember - aha emoticon caffeine withdrawal. Hope you're feeling better meanwhile. xx

    Hello,

You have a very interesting diet. I wish that I can be as creative. If you look at my food tracker for the last month it has been the same old thing day in day out. But when I am on a diet I can't get to fancy. I'm the type of person that can stay on track with anything as long as you don't switch it up on me too much and it has to be very quick and easy to prepare. But of course because of where I am at the moment my choices are limited. I can add some verity to my diet once I get home tomorrow.

Anyway, I mentioned all of that to ask you if what you are eating is totally new to you? The pomergrante drinking vinegar, flaxseed oil, and goat cheese. Have you ever eaten this type of stuff before starting this diet? This all maybe just a shock to your system. Are you getting enough calories daily? That maybe the reason for the headache.

Having you been doing any swimming lately? The dizziness can be related to an inner ear problem.

If all of your symptoms continue you might go and get yourself checked out. At the very least you can go to an urgent care center and at least get you blood pressure checked. I know you said that you do not suffer from high blood pressure but sometimes that can change do to what is going on in your life at the moment.

You take care of yourself and I hope you start to feel better soon.
