Gateway to 8K

My last blog was the end of May. Since then I have finished the Couch to 5K training and walked 1 5K and run 2 5Ks with a third this Saturday. My goal is to run a total of 5 5Ks before the end of the year. I have one planned for September and October and if I'm brave enough to run in the cold - I will run a "Turkey Trot" on Thanksgiving Day.

I have now started the Gateway to 8K training. It is quite a bit more intense then the 5K training. But I'm doing it! I look back at how far I have come in the running world I'm actually starting to think 10Ks for next year and maybe even training for a 1/2 marathon for the next year. Who knows - maybe a whole marathon before I turn 50! Ambitious I know - but hey - we are all capable of great things!

    I need to get started on some races like you are doing. I don't see marathons in my future though good for you to have your sights set on that. I am so glad to be sharing my g28K experience with you.

I live in a seasonal climate as well and am nervous about running in the cold and icy slushy streets!

We will take it one day at a time, right?

    Yes we are capable of great things. Thanks for reminding me. Congratulations on your success on C25K. Sounds like you're already a 5K pro. Keep up the great work! You'll be running marathons before you know it..HAVE FUN!
