Warning! Do not ride bikes with someone who has ADHD!!

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

So today was my 4th day back on my bicycle after the "Great Crash" 4 weeks ago. My husband was riding behind me and things were going along well...until I felt something hit my back tire! Oh my gosh! All of a sudden, I saw my husband veer off to the left and crash his bike. He had some minor scrapes on his knee and a huge dent in his ego! Turns out, he was looking off to the right at some construction that was being done and ran right into me! For the rest of the ride, I kept him in a distance...where I could keep an eye on him. Sheesh! This exercise thing can be hazardous to your health. I still have a little fear on the bike, especially after the close call tonight...but it feels so good to be back out exercising again.

Before SparkPeople, I would have just been sitting on the couch knitting or watching more. I just love the feeling of being active and I have so much more energy now. Yay SparkPeople!!!

I'm glad neither of you was seriously hurt (except for his ego). And emoticon on riding together. My own Mr. Wonderful has gotten up to walk with me the last two mornings. I'm very excited about that - but trying not to let on to him.
emoticon for spouses who want to be healthy too!

I'm enjoying the new bike rides too. But your story... hmm... my OH always keeps me in front for the same reason. emoticon Also, if he's in front, he hares off into the sunset and I'm left puffing miles behind. He doesn't even notice I'm gone! But I'm getting fitter so maybe I'll be able to cut the distance, give him a run for his money... emoticon emoticon

I have a brother in law with ADHD, I can totally see him doing the same thing! Good job getting back on your bike!

Congrats for keeping up the activity. I need to get on my bike - it's such a fun way to get in some exercise.

I can relate with your husband running into you. There's a reason why my husband is not allowed to push a shopping cart behind me!
