IT'S A NEW DAY

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

so time for a new blog. I've been inspired by 2 people to keep up with the walk away the pounds.....particularly late last night for me (around 9 pm). I don't know if there are any pros and cons in particular about the time of day you do cardio. I will have to research that. All I know is I went to bed tired. I had planned to do just 1 mile but ended up doing all 3. Leslie does inspire me to keep going although after awhile you can recite her banter right along with her. I will try the resistance bands with it next....I have just down the arm motions without the bands to this point.
I have plateaued on my weight the last three days although I have been doing the cardio every day and keeping my intake within limits. And then there are other days where I swing down (and up) pretty dramatically (say 2+ pounds). I am sure that is fluid weight although it is hard to necessarily relate it to one particular food sometimes. The main thing is that my weight graph has a nice gentle sloop downwards. I had hit August's goal but have bumped back over it now.
At any rate, not sweating emotionally but certainly physically and that's the way it should be.
NEW EVERY MORNING.

You may be at a point where the scale is not a motivator -- I certainly feel that way! Be careful that you don't slip into that old "well, here I am working and working and I can't budge this thing.". IT WILL BUDGE!!!! Another possibility why it isn't budging right now is that you could be increasing muscle weight with the exercise -- which ultimately will benefit you, so who cares if it results in a little upswing.

The main point is the pounds can teeter totter around a bit but you KNOW that if you are working out and you are eating right, you are RIGHT ON TARGET regardless of what the scale says.

The scale is a tool. It can give you a rough idea trend-wise of what's going on. But it sure isn't the final say. YOU ARE!!!!!
