To Join or Not to Join?

Alright Spark Friends I need your input!!

A Planet Fitness gym has opened down the street from my parents house. My parents live about 20 minutes from me (depending on traffic of course) and my work is smack in the middle so it's convenient to home and work. My sister and dad have both joined. It's $1 to join, $10/month with a $29 annual fee.

Two concerns - I'm lazy and won't go and I'm pretty poor right now. I've been dying for a gym to open near me so I can use the treadmills and ellipticals and this is a pretty manageable price. I'm thinking yes but I need some convincing!

Well that was easy, I've joined and already have plans to go tomorrow morning! Got my other sister to join as well!

Straight up - I would join now! Here's why:
1. Those prices! Wow, that seems amazing.
2. Convenient!
3. Afraid you won't go? If you don't join then you for sure won't go. Join & it's an excellent resource for getting exercise.
4. How else are you going to run during the brutal PA winter?
5. Planet Fitness sounds like a good place to work out. You are lucky. These are my options in my little rural neck of the woods: a)Snap Fitness which I think costs $35 a month & I don't know if there is an annual fee. b)A gym used for martial arts & mma. They offer only classes (no machines to work on). or c)This place: http://www.taurusgym.com/ Seriously. Check it out if you have a minute. That's the best guy they have to put in their video? Would you want personal training from the guy in the tight blue jeans? I don't think so.
I'm going to try to talk my husband into either letting me join Snap or getting us a treadmill once winter comes around. I'm keeping my fingers crossed cause I think I really want to join a gym.
When you add up all the cost it's $150 per year which = $12.50 per month. So, after all that Planet Fitness sounds like a dream. I WOULD JOIN.

I think you should go for it. It is a very reasonable price and if you make plans to meet your dad or your sister at a specific time, you are more likely to carry through. Good luck!
