Do we look at ourselves honestly? I would bet that most of us do not. We want to see ourselves in a more positive light than is truthful. I am not saying this is completely a bad thing either. It is healthy to have a good self image, but not an inflated one. We do not want to concentrate on all that is bad about us, but there is definitely a balance here.
Every now and then we need to take a magnifying glass to our lives. We should not think of ourselves more highly than we ought. We need to look at our lives like a stranger would and see what is truly there. When we do, we can make the little changes that take us from medicracy to excellence.
We have such a need to be better than someone else that to admit our flaws seems to make us less of a person. Yet is it not the one who is humble and honest that we revere? We do not like the person who is so full of themselves that that is all they can see. So every now and then take a hard look at yourself for who you really are.
When it comes to weight loss, track your foods and your exercise honestly. Understand why you make the choices you do and look deep into yourself to find the real reason rather than pull one out of a hat that sounds good, but isn't. Pursue excellence in all you do. Find the time you already have to do the things you have put off for whatever reason. Today take a step in the right direction to become who you were meant to be in the first place. Every one of us can do this. It's all determined by our choices.
