My 2 sisters and I went on a Carnival cruise two weeks ago to celebrate my mom's birthday. Although she died 4 years ago, we get together once a year to celebrate her life and do something she would enjoy.
I have been quiet for some time now, just reflecting on this journey (and recovering from my vacation).
Have you noticed that vacations can sometimes be as strenuous as a 9 to whatever job lately??
...the airport (enough said)
...the overbooked plane (with seats designed by LITTLE people--Very Little People)
...the crowds (talk about a seething mass!)
...the edible temptations (especially on a cruise)
...the weather (hot as a firecracker in the Bahamas, but I survived LOL)
...did I mention that four letter word, the F.O.O.D.?
But I feel so blessed to have a few days away from everything, and to spend time with my beautiful sisters. (Can you say DIVA? The two of them together can stop traffic!)
So--back on track...
Believe it or not, I tracked my food and exercised everyday. I printed out the boot camp video instructions, used the fitness room on the ship, AND drank my water daily. I even blogged (I'll post one of them later).
It's just that, on this ship, Internet access was expensive and unreliable, so I couldn't post any thing , or keep up with my Spark Friends.
Bummer with a capital B.
Am I on track, though? There's good news and there's not as good news:
...I didn't gain any weight!
...I didn't lose any weight!
But I feel like a million bucks inside from all the exercise (mostly walking), water, sun, camaraderie and---
...Did I mention FOOD? Fresh fruit everyday, luscious meals, attentive service---and I didn't have to clean up after myself. (That's a blessing right there!)
Thanks for all the goodies and encouraging comments while I was gone; it was great to come back to all that positive energy!!
I am glad to be home, though, because, as we all know....
...THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
