I went running this morning

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

I just left a comment on XO_Royalty's page about my run this morning, and I figured it would be a good blog so I'll write about it here, as well :)

It all started back in April or so. I befriended XO_Royalty on Twitter (I'm DoloresRogers1... Oops now you guys know my last name!) and then we moseyed on over to Facebook, and then SparkPeople. She told me about C25k way back then and we both attempted Week 1, but I didn't really stick with mine. Plus the music! Techno. Ew.

Well, I ended up just drifting away from SP and the whole weight loss issue for a couple of months until I came back on the scene July 13. I've been watching my calories consistently for nearly a month, and sporadically I do some situps and SP workout videos.

One day, I saw on my sidebar that Bailey7of9 (another shout out woop! lol) commented on so and so's page. Being the troll that I am I decided to go see what Bailey was talking about. She left a comment about C25k music. "Hmm!" I thought. So I clicked the link that she provided and O.M.G. Hip hop music!!! Yaaayyyy!!! So I told XO_Royalty about it and she promptly downloaded it and started back up C25k that night, or maybe it was the next morning. Since then she has progressed to Week 2! I'm so proud of her!

I decided to try it for myself finally, and I went running/walking today. I felt MUCH better than I did on my very first attempt at Week 1 back in April/May. My very first blog is about that run. It's pretty funny, if I do say so myself. This time I got to the 3rd run before I started feeling like crap. The next run she actually tells you, "Time for your 4th run." That's cool because I was losing track. I don't know if any of you are like me, but I try to figure out about how long I've been at it and how much longer I have to be done with the hell I put myself through, lol.

Towards the end as I was approaching the gate to exit the track I was thinking "I'm running late, at least I worked out today, let's go home and get ready for work..." I was almost certain I was going to leave but then I thought "NO! Push it, you're going to finish!" The next run time came and the girl said "This is your second to last run." Wow, how heavenly. I love this new podcast because she TALKS to you and lets you know how far you've come and that it's almost over. With the techno crap it's just a little chime and you really have no idea when it will be the last one...

I had a really great morning. My boyfriend and I woke up together at 5:30am and showered (together. we always do that lol hopefully you guys don't think it's gross) and then we had breakfast together (Cinnamon Life yeah) and watched the news, and left the house together, he for work and me for my run. I could get used to this. I feel like I have a permanent smile on my face.

EXACTLY...I do the same thing! emoticon I feel great when I'm done but some days I feel I am just torturing myself. I need to get back on my treadmill today for my 2nd round of "self-training 5K workout". I am on day 2, week 6. I did day 1 on the track back home Monday. Got lots to do today so I better get movin'.

You'll be accountability person for the day, ok. I'll let you know all of my "workout" accomplishments later today!
