Back, again

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

After a series of interuptions-- a friend's mother died, a visitor from the Czech Republic. But mostly, being tired of not seeing anything budge, not to mention missing a lot of my goals. Some things I have managed to do-- private skating lessons are awesome, progress on the novel is not. Losing the next ten pounds, not even started. In fact, I'm sure I have gained some of the last 10 back. (DId I mention fried cheese? My friend from the Czech Republic made it. You take a wedge, flour it, dip in egg, bread crumbs, and fry it until it is golden on the outside, soft on the inside. Don't even want to know the calories in that, but I only eat it every ten years.)

So, now I'm back. Not gritting my teeth back, but trying to make things flow back. Summer didn't help the writing, because there is still a fear factor. And maybe laziness.

    Hi AGAWRITER;

I love cheese and I will try that, so bad. I would like you to take a hold on your life and get back to what you want to do to maintain a healthy life style. Get back to your healthy eating, routines exercises and try and stay focused on them. Only you can do for you and now is the time to decide if that is what you are going to do. We get side tracked and it is hard to get back but we can. So for your own success in becoming healthy refocus what you want to do. Love Spark people and learn from them. God bless you always.

Joyce

    Mmm, the fried cheese does sound very good. Don't beat yourself up over your perceived failings. Those days are gone and no longer in your control. Start over because tomorrow is something you can control. Welcome back!

    Probably more laziness than anything, a common ailment among writers along with procrastination. If nothing else, keep thinking about your story and the plot and let it simmer in your mind. Then, go somewhere out of the house and write -- Denny's, a bookstore, McDonald's -- so you have a fresh perspective. Two of the scenes in my story were created while visiting my brother and my nephew at their respective fire stations. Hang in there one day at a time. -- Lou
