Fair and Family...

Monday, August 09, 2010

What a beautiful weekend. My brother and his family came to visit. We took all of the kids to the fair. A great time was had by all... but fair food is not to be denied. Fried Chicken on a Stick and Mint Choc Chip ice cream. Sure, we did a lot of walking, but was it enough?
My scale this morning said no.
But I'm not mad about it. It's a new day (and again the sun is shining!) My new addiction is cucumber slices with low fat sour cream and dill. Very refreshing. It's an old family recipe, but I'm cheating on some of the prep time... and all the added salt.
My older daughter is off to camp for the next 3 weeks and my little one will be going with Dad a lot. Makes for a lonely me... but any opportunity to have some me time should be relished.
I'm looking forward to date night with my bf this Friday... so that's a motivator to get through the week. It's also a motivator to be good about diet and exercise. He's lost 20lbs hardly without trying. I wish my weight could melt off so quickly just by making some adjustments to my diet.
Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Men can usually burn that fat off quicker because of their muscle. Thankfully us women have other advantages.

Glad you had a nice weekend. Sometimes it's good to splurge a little- confuses that metabolism!! Alone time can always be a good thing. I wish my weight would come off like my husbands! But when he tries to lose weight I always tell him that I don't want to hear a number from him, just that he lost that week. It can be discouraging that he can lose it without even thinking about it and I can gain WHILE thinking about it!
