Thought You Might Enjoy This.......

Sunday, August 08, 2010

Someone asked the other day, "What was your favorite fast food when you were growing up?"
"We didn't have fast food when I was growing up." I informed him.
"C'mon, seriously. Where did you eat?"
"It was this place called AT HOME." I explained.
"Mom cooked every day and when Dad got home from work, we sat down together at the dining room table, and if I didn't like what she put on my plate I was allowed to sit there until I did like it."
By this time, the kid was laughing so hard I was afraid he was going to suffer serious internal damage, so I didn't tell him the part about how I had to have permission to leave the table!!!

Oh, the Good Old Days............

Yes, those were the days. Don't think my mom ever ate at a fast food restaurant until maybe she was in her 60's. Still like home cooking better than the real FAST Food places. A nice restaurant is much better choice. Well I do like Subway so quess that fits in the other catagory.

Your blog really brought a smile to my face. I can remember when we would complain that we didn't like something my mum's response was "I'm not running a restaurant here, you'll eat what I cook!"

Then she got a job cooking in a restaurant! emoticon My mum was a wonderful cook so even when we went to the restaurant to eat it was good home cooking, except we were allowed to have french fries when we ate there. emoticon But they were not fast food french fries--fresh made all the way.

Thanks for the fun blog. emoticon

When I was in High School, a town near us (much larger than my little town) opened a '
Sandy's Drive Inn. that was the closest thing we had to fast food. I only remember eating there one time before a basketball game.
