Year End Ruminations

Thinking about the end of the year and what's happened. Some positive achievements:
*lost 45 pounds
*started an ongoing exercise program - have gone from 30 min/day to an average of 60 min/day
* had a successful total knee replacement and faster-than normal rehab
* am now much more aware of what I eat and am tracking calories and portion sizes pretty faithfully
*completed 3 years without a cigarette

Now for the negative:
*still have those last 15 pounds to lose - weight is not coming off as fast these days as it did in the beginning
*haven't completely vanquished the "munchie monster" - still sometimes give in to those late night eating urges
*not much progress on reshaping my 3 problem body areas (abs, triceps, and inner thighs)
*not looking forward to the knee replacement surgery coming up in March - this time I know what to expect and what is going to be necessary to get rehabbed and back on track

    Wow, Carol. you had a great year..45 pounds and regular cardio - that is awesome. And quitting smoking - WOW..you may want to visit member MIMI_POPE and give her some encouragement..she just quit for the New Year. The Best of Sparkpeople today happens to be on "Busting Through Plateaus". You might consider strength training if you haven't already. I kow its what I need but for some reason have trouble getting it done!
