5k done!

Friday, August 06, 2010

I wish I had eloquent words and witty lines to write a super read like other blogs, but its just not me. I want to tell a thrilling tale of how I wrestled with highway 303 and won, with the wind at my back and the morning sunrise on my shoulders, and a deer spotting in the last kilometer. (all true by the way...)

I just want to say I have completed a goal, I did 5k. I don't really know if others would call me a runner, but today I do. I took all 277 pounds of my fabulous self and completed 5k. It was at lightning SNAIL speed, an average of 10 minutes per kilometer. But I did it.

I thought to myself, while stretching afterward, I guess this means there is only an incredible amount of room to improve on my time and speed! It only gets better from here.

emoticon I'd call you a runner because you've completed a 5K run/jog where as I have only ever managed to jog about 2.5K if I'm lucky and that only once.

Keep going and you will definatly improve on time and endurance.

    You inspired me today!

I ran my first 5k back in May after about 8 weeks of training. I've kept up with jogging each week, but haven't attempted a 5k since. So today, I hit the treadmill at the gym instead of doing my regular run outside and didn't stop until I had made that 5k again. I needed that extra challenge!

Awesome job! It doesn't matter how fast you did it; it just matters that you did it!!

Awesome--YOU DID IT! That's what matters the most; you set a goal and you reached it! It doesn't matter whether you run a sub-10 minute mile or a 10 minute kilometer; you ran a 5K! Do you know how many people never ever even ATTEMPT to do that? Do not sell yourself short in any way. Revel in the accomplishment, pat yourself on the back, and feel free to brag a little; you earned the right!

Great job. I bet you didn't think you could do it before. Keep trucking and you will see your time improve again and again.
