So, I have been on the Celiac, G/F new way of living, for 2 months and I have gained 10 pounds since December. Needless to say, my family said I was to skinny then but what could I do, the food I ate didn't stay with me. Now, I feel fat and overweight.
My friends say they can't see it, which is a nice complement but you know... Everyone has that max threshold and I'm almost there and don't want to get any closer than I am now. I'm frusterated though, my nutritionist said that I should add a few more 'grains' to help with my workouts so I'm not so hungry. OK..so I did and OK, I splurge on low-fat ice cream every night but I take that into account with my tracker. Still, I'm gaining...
Perhaps it's where my body is happy....I've been 135 for about 20 years now. I'm up to 138 but would LOVE to get to 130. Even if I could get myself back to 135, i would be happy...and I will! I changed some numbers on my tracker and will pay more attention to what I eat. No more ice cream or frozen yogurt for a while and limit myself to 1-1.5 servings of grains per day, no more (including spaghetti, muffins, brownies). Snacks will be fruit and nuts.... This is something I think I can live with so we'll see how it goes.
Question - weight gain is common when you are first diagnosed as a Celiac? I was told when the body starts healing that it might happen but..this is just so sudden.
