So far, so good

Four days of August in, four days of exercise, four days without artificial sweeteners or added sugar (to my knowledge!), four days with limited white flour, and I feel great. I'm putting a smiley face on my calendar for every day I exercise, and I can't wait until that calendar is full of smiley faces!

Tuesday had a wrench thrown into it: my parents stopped by to take me to lunch and wanted Thai. I got shrimp pad thai, which wasn't a great choice, but I was planning on having a healthy, light dinner. Then Joe and I met them later at an artist showcase for my mom's co-worker's friend's daughter who's trying to break in to the music industry. But her slot got shifted to later, so by the time she played, my parents offered to take us to dinner. We went to Qdoba, and I got a grilled veggie burrito without rice. The next day, I didn't feel so good. That'll teach me!

But yesterday was much better, even though Joe insisted on walking over to our frozen yogurt place after dinner. I just got the original tart flavor (basically frozen plain yogurt) and topped it with lots of fruit: blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, raspberries, and mango! It was even better than I thought it would be, plus no sugar hangover afterward.

The trouble will be this weekend when we go to Holiday World. I've already checked their restaurant menus, and they actually have decent choices like grilled chicken salads. It helps knowing that I'll be in a swimsuit since part of it is a waterpark!

Good for you for sticking with your workouts! It's all about doing the best you can. I think your eating sounds great. I LOVE tart yogurt with berries... too much, I think. I try not to go too often but there is a SweetGreen just a short walk from my office. Danger zone.
