Whoa -- I have been way off. In related news: I am not quitting!

Well, hello world. I have not been here for a little bit. I didn't receive any SP awards for July -- and this is the girl who was in the top 3 of all her teams in terms of monthly activity minutes! What happened?

Life happened. Nothing you haven't heard of before -- my work hours are insane, the social calendar is booked, and now my dad is here visiting. I love my dad but it is pretty intense to have him here for 3 weeks: I work all day, come home exhausted and he has been waiting all day to talk to me, to go out for a nice meal, to show what he bought in the local TJ Maxx this afternoon and what pictures he took on his walk to the Bay Bridge. So, something had to give and unfortunately Sparking is one of those things. I try spending time with dad since he traveled 8 thousand miles to see me.

But here's the good news: my good life habits are not completely gone. I find myself making much better food decisions on ongoing basis and doing so automatically. And I still walk a lot even if I don't have time to go to the gym. And those little things add up -- I gain weight very easily but my current whirl-wind of a life only added less than a pound to the scale number. Not too bad -- completely manageable!

This is why I found this blog post very timely:

As a recap: only 3% of Sparkers start and end their journey successfully in one streak -- the other 83% are just like me, committing, stepping away, and coming back! I just want to make sure I am not in the remaining 14% who quit and don't return.

    I'm so impressed that you've been able to maintain the good habits without Spark! I don't want to have to spark for the rest of my life (and I'm sure no one else does, either!), so this is awesome to read!

    Welcome Back! Totally understandable that you've been busy. Wow, your dad has travelled a long way to see you. Enjoy the quality time and good for you for making good choices. Keep up the super food choices and walking.
