July '10 Recap, Aug '10 Goals

July whizzed by!

So while July was a fabulous month for fitness minutes and exercise and feeling leaner and stronger, it was by far the worst month for weight loss. I bet I lost inches though, so I should probably break out that tape measure. Time to make the most of the rest of summer, huh?

RECAP RESULTS:

JULY:
-3 pounds
30 days of cardio exercise
3 days above calorie range
Tracked 30 days (skipped July 4th)
2,680 fitness minutes
18,273 calories burned
Continued gym circuit training and home DVD strength training
7-mile and 8-mile runs!


JULY GOALS:

-Lose 5+ pounds this month. This will put me at 179 and will mark 100 pounds lost since starting SparkPeople on 6/3/09.

Well, this didn't happen. I lost 3 lbs this month and I'm at 181. I'm fine with this. I feel like I'm thinner and I gained muscle. I'm firmly in a Size 12 now and feeling terrific! While I'd love to lose 5 lbs per month, if I'm doing pretty much everything right and it's coming off slowly, I'm OK with that.

Smashed! 2,680 for the month. Wow. I know a lot of that was low-impact stuff like walking, but still! I did Kickboxing/Zumba every week except last week and kept to a schedule of 3 runs per week. I'm looking forward to my rest day today!


-Meet sodium levels 5/7 days per week

-One long run per week and increase long run mileage to 8 miles

Got the broker's license, started making some new recipes, got the dress of my dreams and read about 5 books! Going pretty well, but there is still a lot to do!


-Work on my running memoir

I did this at the beginning of the month, but it's seriously stalled since going back to work in mid-July. But I'm still plugging along!

AUGUST GOALS:
These goals are going to be very similar to July, because things are pretty much the same!

-Lose 5 lbs
-2,000+ fitness minutes
-Meet sodium levels 5/7 days per week
-One long run per week and increase mileage to 9-10 miles
-Kick butt at my Beatles-themed 4.2-mile race!
-Focus on arm and ab strength training and getting toned
-Work on 30 by 30
-Work on RWC
